Nestled within a vibrant streetscape, 3 Skinner Street beautifully marries heritage charm with contemporary elegance, in a biophilic sanctuary

Heritage charm and Modern Elegance

This architectural masterpiece, originally built in 1901 as "Dunwiley Villa," showcases a seamless blend of classic red brick and stonework with modern contemporary design elements, honouring its rich history while embracing modern living.

Captivated by the timeless allure of high ceilings, ornate archways, and intricate ceiling roses, the space has been carefully designed complemented by the warmth of Jarrah floorboards. The three-bedroom layout features original fireplaces in two rooms, while the master suite boasts built-in robes and a luxurious ensuite.

Biophilic Design

With a focus on biophilic design, this home connects the inside and out, bringing the garden inside to create a harmonious living environment. The expansive open plan kitchen and dining area allow for effortless transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces, making it ideal for entertaining and family gatherings.

At the heart of the home's design is a feeling of nurture and well being evoking a sense of hoy and expansion. A majestic oriental plain tree conjures a whimsical treehouse feel encircled by limestone accents and recycled timber.

Site Response Architecture

Thoughtfully designed to respond to its site, this home balances built and natural environments. Embracing solar passive principles and maximizing natural light and energy efficiency to enhance comfort and sustainability. The open-plan layout, featuring NSW blackbutt floorboards and a state-of-the-art kitchen, promotes seamless indoor-outdoor transitions, perfect for gatherings.

A Proactive House

Designed to encourage active participation, the house invites occupants to 'trim the sails' and adjust elements for personal comfort and climate adaptability. Industrial inspired design elements, including a re-purposed shipping container level, reflect the harbourside city’s history, offering spaces for quiet reflection and stunning port vistas.

I felt connected because I was part of the build, and the indoor-outdoor connection made me feel closer to nature. There were good views and we loved looking at the big tree. Our rooms were personalised just for us. The house was a bit quirky, just like me! We loved the basement cause we could be as loud as we wanted!
